Art Workshop at Bishton Hall
I was involved in running an introductory workshop (in my capacity as Theresa Malein, Garden Studio Arts) with my friends Sue and Phil of S&P Watercolours at Bishton Hall on Sunday 22nd January. It took place in The Orangery at Bishton Hall and ran from 10 - 4.30. We had nine participants, of varied experience and ability.
The morning session was an introduction to watercolours led by Phil, who explained and demonstrated various basic watercolour techniques, and then the group were led through the process of painting a beautiful flag iris.
Lunch was included in the cost and was provided by Mary's Tearoom. It was enjoyed by all.
The afternoon session was run by me, and concentrated on acrylics. We talked about the properties of acrylic paints, and I demonstrated and led the group to paint an impressionistic local snow scene based on a photo of OldfieIds Farm, based on a photograph I took during the last winter lockdown.
In both sessions, the group produced some excellent work, and all enjoyed the day. They were proud to take home their finished paintings. Several of the participants said they would love to come back and paint with us again!
We were thrilled that the day was such a success and that our customers had a fun and productive day. We will certainly be arranging more workshops in the future, and look forward to seeing some of our first customers again, and welcoming many new ones for some fun and creativity! Future dates to be arranged
