Creative Inspiration Workshop. 19-10-24

19/10/2024

What a spendid way to spend a Saturday! Carole and Shiela once again delivered an inspiring and informative workshop on using alcohol inks. Starting with a thorough explanation and demonstration of the materials - which were new to many of the attendees, we were quickly encouraged to have a go. All art materials were provided, although we all had a list of basic equipment to take if possible to support the work.

Carole and Sheila were always on hand to encourage, advise and make suggestions for further development.

The materials create vibrant and often unpredictable effects which encoraged us to be more spontaneous in our creations. Later demonstrations showed how the medium can be controlled where necessary to create specific results.

The workshop enabled everyone to make their own pictures- each one very individual, and varied in style and colour. A sample of the works created can be seen in the adjacent gallery.

We are so fortunate to have these creative workshops annually. I am sure many of us would be happy to have them far more frequently! The criteria for any workshop is to be able to cover all the costs of room hire and equipment used- and obviously the larger the number of attendees, the easier it is to cover the costs.

A huge thank you goes to Carole and Sheila who have spent much of their own time preparing for today, and for frequently sharing their own resources.

I am sure we will all be looking forward to the next one.

(If you attended today but left before the throwdown , please email pictures to Pam and I will include them in the gallery.)
