Perspective- Stuart Blackburn
On Tuesday 7th February, Stuart demonstrated how we can create accurate and realistic pictures, by using perspective. Not all art wants or needs this accuracy- we only have to look at Egyptian art to see this. But if you want to create pictures where images reflect what the eye sees- then perspective is a wonderful tool.
Stuart illustrated single point and double point perspective, showing how lines converging on a vanishing point, can guide your constructions within a picture. He solved the mystery ( for me!) of how to work out spacings between fence posts in a landscape. He also demonstrated how a circle becomes an oval when seen from different angles, and how these can be developed within a picture to draw a variety of objects.
Stuart will be preparing some of his key points to go on the website shortly.
