Stoke Urban Sketchers.
Following on from our recent presentation on Urban Sketching, I was able to participate in an Urban Sketchers meet this morning. One of our local groups is the Stoke branch who hold sketching events fortnightly. Todays meet was in Victoria Park Stafford.
The park is now in full autumn colour , and despite the dull weather , still looked wonderful. The group met at the bandstand at 11am, arranged to meet up at 1pm for the throwdown ... people then dispersed for some dedicated sketching.
This is a very welcoming group. There is no fee to pay, no formal membership, just turn up and join in. It is a great way to share your sketching with like minded people.
The art work produced is varied in style and media used. As you will see from the gallery of pictures of the throwdown - media includes pen and ink, pencil, coloured pencil, watercolour, mixed media and digital art.
If you would like more information on this delightful group, check out their website Urban Sketchers Stoke-on-Trent. Their next meeting will be at Christchurch church, Fenton. Meetings usually start at 11am. Its a lovely way to spend a few hours on a Saturday.
