Walsall Art Gallery
Just half an hour's drive away is Walsall Art Gallery, where the Walsall Society of Artists are currently exhibiting their work. This is their 74th Annual Exhibition. We were visited recently by one of their members , and soon to be Chair, Steve Woodhams (who did a demo on his Cubist Style ).
The exhibition is on the ground floor in a beautiful light room, that also has chairs ready for the many demonstrations that are taking place throughout the exhibition (13th Dec '24 -2nd Feb '25).
The work is all of a high standard, giving the display a very professional feel. As well as the 2D work in a variety of media, there were also many 3D works . A comprehensive exhibition guide booklet introduces each member whose work is on display.
The Art Gallery, for those of you who have never visited, is an iconic modern building. It houses the Garman Ryan collection which includes works by many famous artists. The gallery works hard to promote creativity and not only houses temporary exhibitions such as the Walsall Society of Artists, but also has a programme of workshops for families and children. They hold events to promote and celebrate community.
The gallery has a cafe , and affordable parking is nearby.
This event is well worth a visit to inspire and motivate.
