Friday and Saturday 2nd and 3rd December SAG exhibited at the Oddfellows Hall in Stafford. A beautiful and successful exhibition, demonstrating the wonderful range of work produced by the members.

Today, 4th October, we welcomed our artist in residence, Shane Wiseman. Shane has visited the Art group in the past with demonstrations and workshops. He is currently visiting SAG for a few sessions to offer support and advice to all us artists, while we work on our own chosen art work.

What a scorcher! Today our Summer Sketching was at Foxfield Steam Railway. It is a delightful little railway tucked away in Blythe Bridge, Stoke on Trent. A wonderful venue to sketch the old railway buildings, steam trains, the station and the workers who keep this little gem of a station going.

On Tuesday 10th May we were treated to a presentation from our very own Doug Blanks. Doug demonstrated 3 methods of starting a portrait, although I am sure the methodology would apply to almost any genre. The Sale for Ukraine was held on Saturday 16th April at the Oddfellows in Stafford. The venue was kindly donated by Oddfellows for the day to support our sale. Members donated equipment, materials and art works , alongside crafts such as cards , and sunflower seed-baskets and potted sunflower plants.
If you fancy a break from all things christmas... I can thoroughly recommend the Maurice Wade Exhibition which is currently at Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. The temporary exhibition is showing a wide range of Wade's work spanning his painting years. He works in a very monochromatic style, creating the stark landscape of the potteries.
Our winter exhibition took place on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd November. Oddfellows was transformed into an Art Gallery of wonderful artworks displayed beautifully. The cafe was available for drinks and cakes at very affordable prices.
This evening, 8th November , we were treated to a presentation by local artist Steve Woodhams. Steve originates from Bloxwich and is soon to be the Chair at the Walsall Artists Group - a well established group of artists for over 70 years.
