A message from Katharine House Hospice, Stafford.
One of Stafford Art Group's Good Causes
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to you and members of Stafford Art Group for very kindly thinking of Katharine House Hospice and setting up a Just Giving page to fundraise for us from your Tuesday virtual art classes. What a wonderful idea! During what are really difficult and unprecedented times it is fantastic to hear how groups such as your own are utilising technology to continue to meet; it means such a lot socially but also to have the meetings to look forward to and to participate in something you really enjoy is so important too.
We are incredibly grateful to you and your members for using your meetings as an opportunity to raise money for the Hospice. As you know, the Covid-19 pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on charities of all sizes. All of our income streams have either slowed down or stopped, including cancelled fundraising events and closed shops, which has caused a massive blow to our income and it is extremely difficult for us to forecast the impact on our patients, staff, volunteers, services and finances. However, we have been fortunate enough to have been awarded a slice of the £200 million pound government pot allocated specifically for Hospices, which has taken a lot of pressure off of our finances in the short term but are now working on a forecast to try to get an idea of what position we might be in once this ends (although we don't know when that is) and when we can get our fundraising up and running again. Thank you so much again.
We would love to hear more about your meetings, what topics you are covering and examples of member's artwork to use on our social media pages if you are able to send some through please or is there a particular page on your website we could go to?
Please keep in touch but in the meantime, wishing you all to stay safe and well and with sincere thanks
